The DDA (1995) states it is a legal duty to ensure that web services are available to as many people as possible.

In the UK, the DDA (Disabilities Discrimination Act 1995) states the duty to take reasonable steps to supply business services or products to disabled persons (i.e. a disabled person must not be treated less favourably than anyone else).

The QM Legal website has been designed and built to be accessible to all, with our users in mind.

The requirements of users with impairments, which may affect the way they use our website, are catered for with the following accessibility features:

User Controlled Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
Cascading Style Sheets control the size, positioning, colour, formatting and actions (to some extent) of a website's content. CSS can greatly aid accessibility to users. The QM website utilises CSS and users can change the size of the font on text elements of our site using the following commands:

  • Internet Explorer
    View > Text Size > Select choice from:
    Smallest / Smaller / Medium / Larger / Largest
    or,
    if you have a wheel mouse:
    CTRL& wheel up/wheel down to cycle through sizes

  • Netscape and Mozilla
    View > Text Zoom > Select choice from:
    Smaller / Larger / 50% / 75% / 90% / 100% / 120% / 150% / 200% / Other... (select yourself in %)
    or,
    CTRL& +/- to cycle through sizes
Constant Navigation
The QM Legal website maintains uniform navigation throughout: main navigation is in the header and footer of pages, with sub-navigation appearing in the left column.

Any images use suitable ALT tags.

Compliance
This site attempts to comply to W3C (Worldwide Web Consortium) Accessibility Guidelines for both HTML and CSS.

The site has also been tested with screen magnifiers and readers.We welcome feedback to improve our website accessibility. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any suggesions for improvement.
